Nokia
Nokia owner HMD Global has recently welcomed a new chief marketing officer. The new hire will lead HMD Global’s marketing efforts across its product portfolio, including its latest smartphone subscription service, Circular. The sustainable subscription encourages people to keep their devices for longer and rewards credits that support charitable causes, whilst reducing e-waste.
There is a further shake-up at the organisation, with HMD’s global CEO announcing his departure after six years with the business. HMD has started streamlining its business, discontinuing its HMD Connect data subscription, suggesting the business is refocusing for 2023.
Further signs of an investment in its marketing strategy are the hires of a digital marketing manager and global social marketing manager. Nokia has been focusing its efforts on marketing affordable and durable mobile phones, and those made from recycled materials, which could increase in popularity due to the current economic climate.
