The company is one of the UK’s fastest growing online marketplaces, is planning to enter international markets and is eyeing unicorn status.

Last year it raised £35m in Series A funding and saw sales hit £200m. This year it is building out its team so it can operate in new countries and develop its offerings.

OnBuy’s founder Cas Paton said: “We want to be a household name by the end of 2022”. He explained that to achieve unicorn status: “We probably only need to double our business size to be a unicorn at the moment, so we are really close to unicorn status. Our goal now is to get 20 times the business, not just two times.”

The online marketplace whose rivals are the likes of Amazon, eBay and Etsy, currently does not work with a creative or media planning & buying agency. As the company looks to boost sales and increase its brand image, this could be a new opportunity for you.
